Stablecoins Speed Up Thanks to ‘AWS of Crypto’ Alchemy’s Latest Upgrade

Stablecoins, the dollar-pegged tokens now rivaling Visa and Mastercard in international payment volumes, are poised for a significant speed boost. While traditional finance giants process over 65,000 transactions per second, decentralized blockchains vary in latency. Alchemy, a blockchain infrastructure firm often dubbed the 'AWS of crypto,' claims a 66% reduction in transaction delays across crypto rails, including stablecoin infrastructure.

Originally designed as parking spots for crypto traders and DeFi participants, stablecoins have evolved into payment powerhouses. 'We power the vast majority of stablecoin issuers like Paxos and Circle,' said Alchemy CTO Guillaume Poncin. The Stanford-born platform also facilitates substantial activity involving Tether (USDT) for money movement, DeFi, and trading.
